Way back in the mists of time, there was no google, youtube, or indeed internet. Instead we had reel to reel tapes, cassettes, beta and video - none of which convert very well to digital. So, imagine my surprise when I found some of the following content online. Hope it amuses you as much as it did me - I'll try to explain why it's here as we go along.
This is Central's weekly viewer led programme. I was working in Continuity at the time but was called upon to voice some of the letters. Yup, not a tweet, text, FB post, but real paper sent in a real envelope with a proper stamp on it.
Ah, should have explained continuity. We were familiar faces who popped up through the day to tell you what was coming up next (just in case you'd forgotten to buy the Radio or TV times)! Remember there was no TV guide or schedule onscreen then - you read it in print, in the newspaper or you heard it from us.
Years after Central ceased to be Central - TV Ark decided to document the heady days of 80s TV. Not sure why they asked me!
Me and Gary Terzza having a 'hand over' moment! Am I seriously posting this?
